John previously worked at Cisco, Cray and Intel building, tuning and benchmarking HPC clusters. Those clusters were interconnected with Infiniband or RDMA Ethernet and ran MPI based micro and application benchmarks such as LS-Dyna, Fluent and Eclipse. Performance tuning ranged from compiler optimizations to network topologies to application tuning. Results were published to the web as well as to the SPEC consortium to which he officially represented Cisco and Intel.
